My Running Tally

I made a list of Indian dishes I want to learn how to make. Mostly because I like crossing things off lists and this will help me stay organized. I also want to make sure I continue to teach myself the fundamentals of Indian cooking, so I can one day improvise and create my own dishes….maybe.

The foundation:

  • Garam Masala
  • Ginger and Garlic Paste
  • Ghee (I know how to make this already. I’ll post about it soon!

Okay now onto the good stuff!

  • Hyderabadi Biryani
  • Vegetable Pakoras
  • Baby Eggplant Curry
  • Egg Curry
  • Lemon Pickle
  • Puris
  • Chenna Masala
  • Bunny Chow (My husband grew up in South Africa so we have some African influence in our home cooking. Don’t worry, there are no bunnies in this dish).
  • Aloo curry (potatoes)
  • Idly and Sambaar
  • Dosa (This one is for Luke. I don’t particularly care for them).
  • Paneer – all kinds of paneer
  • Tandoori Chicken

This is all I can think of for now, but I’m sure the list will grow as my skills expand!
